Chemistry – 2021 Nobel Prize

Nobel Prize for Chemistry

David MacMillan and Benjamin List were awarded the 2021 Nobel prize (Chemistry) for the development of assymetric organocatalysis which is a great tool for building molecules . Organocatalysis is the use of certain organic molecules that act as catalyst in chemical reactions via catalytic activation . Organic catalysts are characterized by a stable skeleton of carbon atoms over which chemical groups of greater reactivity can attach . It is highly efficient , eco-friendly and inexpensive to produce which can even help in manufacturing new pharmaceuticals .
